This has been hands down one of my favorite books to read with my toddlers. It’s fun and easy to read because of the rhythmic stanzas. Every time I say it’s “Time for a HUG”  I would get a big hug from my little one. That’s the best feeling ever!

I pulled this book out again when I realized that my Kindergartener didn’t really have a handle on time. When I would quiz this kindergartener of mine with questions like, “It’s after dinner and almost time for bed, what time is it? What should the clock say?” This child of mine had no idea. I would get answers like three fifty eleven or sixteen ten?

I realized that I needed to be talking about time a little more with this child! I started to  say things like, “We always wait until 3 for snacks. Is it 3 o’clock yet?” and “Wow it’s 7 in the morning already, time to get up!”

We started to read this book again. It starts the foundations of time at any age! My kindergartener still loves this book and still gives me all the hugs! It’s the best. Now I can have my child show me the time on this cute little puzzle toy I found. You can find a similar one here. I love it when sweet books can teach my kiddo something at the same time as filling her bucket with mommy snuggle time.
