This illustrated children’s book is a story about friendship and knitting with a title that has a pun you’ll have to explain to your kids!

Ha. I mean I did have to explain how a yarn could mean the ball of wool and also a story. This was a great story about when two friends are selfish and only wanting things their way it doesn’t work out for them. It leaves them frustrated and alone. But when 2 people decide to care for the other one first they end up happier and together.

Is this a story on marriage or friendship?!? It works both ways!

We loved this sweet story and especially liked reading the sound effects of knitting being pulled apart, “Floop. Floop. Floop-Floop-Floop.”

A Friendship yarn by Lisa Moser illustrated by Olga Demidova for Albert Whitman and Company.

I recommended this book for 2-7 year olds.

Ages: 2-7

Themes: Friendship, thoughtfulness, kindness

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them.” Matthew 7:12
