Evergreen by Matthew Cordell for Feiwel & Friends Books is a children’s picture book about courage, bravery, adventure, and friendship.

A timid squirrel gets sent on a mission from her mother to deliver soup to a sick friend. She must overcome her fear of the forest and of other animals. Along the way she makes friends as she helps others and conquers her fears. It’s a good reminder to little ones that being brave means doing something even when you are still scared. Often it is worth it to try things that frighten you. You might even gain a new friend.

Ages: 4-8

Themes: courage, adventure, friendship
