If you have a child like mine, one puzzle book is never enough! This one, Brain Twisters: Smart Puzzles by Arcturus Limited, offers a greater challenge than the previous one I recommended, Science Puzzles for Clever Kids.
With over 100 logic puzzles, this book keeps things interesting with a wide variety of challenges, including different types of Sudoku, seek-and-finds, jigsaw puzzles, spatial reasoning games, patterns, mazes, and more. I love that if one type of puzzle has my kid stumped, we can switch to another and come back to it later. Plus, the puzzles gradually increase in difficulty—the first section is ranked with one star, while the final challenges are three-star level, making for a rewarding progression.
The back cover invites readers to “tackle the activities solo or challenge family and friends to see who’s got the brainpower to beat the book.” I’ve found this to be true! My son enjoys working on them alone, but we also team up or compete against each other for extra fun.
Like the previous book, this one is compact and paperback-sized—perfect for tossing in a bag and pulling out while waiting at the doctor’s office, restaurants, road trips, or anywhere you need a quiet, engaging activity.
