Another first day of school book! Vannessa is nervous for her first day of school, though her parents encourage her to be herself and wear something that will show everyone just how special she is! The plan doesn’t go so well, but she finds what makes her unique and makes friends along the way.

Something I really enjoyed about this book is the strong family support Vanessa has. I also like the fact that the school friends aren’t doing anything wrong or mean. Vanessa’s own insecurity gets in the way of possible friendships, and when she feels more comfortable she makes friends!

This book never says “kindergarten” in it though it definitely could be a first-day-of-kindergarten book. It could also be the first day of first-grade book too. It’s a fun one to check out!
