Do you feel like tearing up a little bit over a story about a family sticking together through adversity while being exposed to your own personal responsibility in pollution and the devastation of our beautiful natural flora and fauna? Mmmm, Sign me up!  Kidding aside, this was a beautifully illustrated book about fireflies in search of the light at the end of the way. Their home was destroyed by construction so they are trying to find a new home and the family sticks together no matter what. You know I’m a sucker for books that feature strong family bonds.

You could use this book to talk about pollution, moving, change, or even a loss of some kind. It is somber but the illustrations are enchanting and my fairy-crazed daughter loved it.
